Over 800,000 high school grads compete in konkoor

TEHRAN - On Thursday and Friday, 877,835 Iranian high school graduates participated at the country’s 45th nationwide university entrance exams, or as it is also known as konkoor, the IRNA reported.
Females with 516,372 participants made up about 58.82 percent of the total test takers, and males with 361,463 constituted about 41.18 percent.Out of the total examinees,181,299 took the mathematics and technical test, 497,000 tried their hands at the experimental sciences test, more than 181,000 sat for human sciences, over 56,000 went for art and last but not least, 112,154 made an attempt to fill the foreign language answer sheets.
The examination wrapped up on Friday afternoon with foreign language as the final test.
The Iranian university entrance exam is a standardized test held each year in month of June and is used as one of the means to gain admission to higher education in Iran.
